Events Event 1: 1877 to 1945 Event: Reconstruction When: 1870 – 1877 Where: In the United States History, the reconstruction history Period followed the adjustments after the civil war. Who: After the end of the civil war, the south was completely ruined. The physical destruction was enormous. The Old social and economic order that was foundered on slavery collapsed completely. Why: After that period, the 11 Confederate states had to restore their position in the Union, which was provided by the loyal governments. Similarly, their main role was to emancipate the slaves in their Southern society, which had already been defined. How: How is this event historically significant? The Reconstruction period was an important aspect to the African Americans. The Era defined their quest for equal rights before the law for both individuals and the black community as a whole. During this period, more than 2000 Africans were able to secure jobs in public offices.
